The Dominican community residing in Ottawa celebrated Mother's Day with its popular "Dominican Mother's Day" event at Stanley Park in the city of Ottawa, an activity organized by the Dominican Mother's Day Committee, under the direction of Paulina Vásquez.
With an event full of games, music, Dominican cuisine, and raffles, in a very entertaining way the Dominican community celebrated this special day, which is considered by many of the participants as one of the most important events of the Dominican nationals living in Ottawa.
The Embassy of the Dominican Republic is pleased to be part of this celebration; the Mission congratulates the organizers for the successful activity and thanks the entire Dominican community that showed up at Stanley Park to share with their countrymen in an ambient of fellowship where our mothers were recognized with a touch of “Dominicanism”.
Likewise, the representation from the Embassy that was present at the event invited the community leaders to count on the support of the Mission for all their initiatives. During an interview, Minister Counsellor Érika Álvarez stated that one of the priorities of Ambassador Pedro Vergés is to support the Dominican community in Canada and its coordinators “for whom our doors are open”.
