Privacy Policy

Policies and their Acceptance

These Policies (hereinafter "Policies") condition the use of the services of the Internet portal http:// www.dominicanembassycanada.gob.do (hereinafter "Portal") of the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Canada (hereinafter "the Embassy"), a government institution directly dependent on the Executive Branch, under the direction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, governed by the Law No. 630-16 of July 28, 2016, concerning the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, with its main offices located at Avenida Independencia No.752 Estancia San Gerónimo, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

Minors.- To use the Services that require the collection of Personal Data by the Embassy through the Portal, minors must obtain prior permission from their parents, guardians or legal representatives, who will be considered responsible for all acts performed by minors under their responsability.

Obligation to make proper use of the Portal and the Services.- The User undertakes to use the Portal and the Services in accordance with the law, these Policies, the Terms of Use, the Particular Conditions of certain Services, and other notices and instructions brought to their knowledge, as well as public order, morality and generally accepted good practices.

The User must refrain from obtaining and even attempting to obtain the Contents using means or procedures other than those that, according to the cases, have been made available for that purpose or indicated in the Web pages where the contents are found or, in general, those that are usually used on the Internet, provided that they do not entail any risk of damage or disablement of the Portal, the Services and / or the contents.

2. No License

All trademarks, trade names or distinctive signs of any kind that appear on the Portal are the property of Embassy or third parties, without it being understood that the use or access to the Portal and / or the Services gives the User any right over those mentioned distinctive icons.

Likewise, the Contents are the intellectual property of the Embassy or of third parties, and are not transferred to the User, by virtue of what is established in these Policies, any of the exploitation rights that exist or may exist on said contents beyond what is strictly necessary for the correct use of the Portal and the Services, that is, the User may consult, copy and store on the hard disk of his computer or any other physical medium, print or reproduce the material available on this website, exclusively for personal or private use, or that is carried out within his company or organization, making mention at all times of the property that the Embassy owns, being strictly forbidden to make alterations, modifications or decompilation of its contents.

It is strictly prohibited the commercialization in any form and under any title of the material contained in this site, without having the prior written authorization of the Embassy. 3. Exclusion of guarantees and liability

Availability and continuity, utility and fallibility.- The Embassy does not guarantee the availability and continuity of the functioning of the Portal and the Services. Privacy and security in the use of the Portal and the Services.- The Embassy does not guarantee the privacy and security of the use of the Portal and the Services and, in particular, does not guarantee that unauthorized third parties will have knowledge of the type, conditions, characteristics and circumstances of the User's use of the Portal and the Services.

Quality.- The Embassy does not control or guarantee the absence of viruses or other elements in the Content that may cause alterations in your computer system (software and hardware) or in the electronic documents and files stored in your computer system.

4. Procedure in case of carrying out activities of an illegal nature

In the event that any User or a third party considers that there are facts or circumstances that reveal the illicit nature of the use of any content and / or the performance of any activity on the Web pages included or accessible through the Portal, and, in particular, in violation of intellectual property rights or other rights, you must send a notification to Embassy stating the following:

Personal data of the claimant: name, cédula ID number (or passport, in case of foreigners), address, telephone number and email address;

Specification of the alleged illicit activity carried out in the Portal and, in particular, in the case of an alleged violation of rights, precise and concrete indication of the protected contents as well as their location in the Web pages;

Facts or circumstances that reveal the illicit nature of said activity;

Explicit declaration, clear and under the responsibility of the claimant, that the information provided in the notification is accurate and the illegality of the use of the contents or the performance of the activities described.

The Present Policies are governed in each and every one of its parts by the laws of the Dominican Republic.
